The ALPA Cine range consists of the ALPA PLATON capturing system and the ALPA Switar Cine lenses.
The ALPA PLATON system combines sensors with more than 60mm diagonal with state-of-the-art cine lenses to a compact and powerful unit. This unique combination opens up completely new possibilities for filmmakers: The large sensor enables the user to work with selective depth of field and gives the images an impressive three-dimensionality and plasticity. Simultaneously, the small format factor allows the system to be used in gimbals and makes it the ideal B-camera for other 65mm systems. The ALPA PLATON system offers you numerous connection options such as Arri rosettes, Nato rail, ULCS balls, and 15mm rod systems.
ALPA is taking advantage of the 4K medium-format video recording option offered by the Hasselblad H6D-100c digital back and expanding its range to include moving images:
With the H6D-100c, the Swedish manufacturer Hasselblad is the first to provide a digital back with a 100 megapixel CMOS sensor measuring 53.4 x 40.0 mm, which today already enables 4K videos across the entire sensor and could even offer 8K in future sensor versions.
At 16:9, this corresponds to around 53.4 x 30 mm and 61 mm image circle. In addition to the Hasselblad proprietary RAW format, which is convertible into Cinema DNG via their Phocus RAW conversion software, there is also the option of recording videos in HD quality in H.264 format. The capturing unit stores the data on SD or Cfast cards. For RAW recording, the digital back uses the latter type.
ALPA SWITAR CINE LENSES
ALPA is reviving a historical and style-forming brand in cinematography: Introducing the unique ALPA SWITAR Cine Primes, the formerly well-known brand for the 16 mm format now plays in the top league of large sensor formats. The comfortable image circle of 70 mm offers more than enough reserves for all digital cine sensor formats known today. The Switar Cine lenses cover the needs of the Fujifilm GFX100 and the ALPA Platon without any problem. No problem with ALPA Switar Cine Primes.
The ALPA SWITAR Cine Primes offer a shimable PL mount as standard. Each lens comes with an individually calibrated adapter mount for the new shimable LPL port. This feature renders them future proof and eases the life of the user. In this way, SWITAR Cine Primes can move quickly and efficiently between the two worlds and are automatically future-proofed. This sense of practicality has also prompted ALPA to develop an M88 to M95 filter adapter. Where space is limited or mounted to rigs, a compendium is often too bulky and impractical. With the help of a filter adapter, the operator circumnavigates this cliff elegantly.
