An architectural yearbook, seen through Peter Beyer's lens.

Born in Hamburg and now based in Zurich, Peter Beyer approaches photography with the precision of someone who learned the craft long before speed became a virtue. Darkroom taught, film shaped, and today working digitally.

Yet always with a mindset of reduction and intention. For Peter, architectural commissions are not about spectacle, but about structure and light. Sometimes distilled into black and white, sometimes subtly desaturated, his images are developed digitally, with the sensibility of a classic darkroom.

His recent contribution to the annual project book for Peter Rüegsegger and Marco Salvini of Salvni Rüegsegger Architekten AG, Zurich, documents the careful renovation and transformation of a late 19th-century residential building for the Walter Haymann Foundation. Architecture understood as continuity between past and present, use and cultural purpose.
